My friend’s little girl wanted a princess themed cake and originally we decided to do a normal rectangle shaped cake with pink fondant and a tiara and wand. However, I had been wanting to make a pillow shaped cake so this is what I came up with. I had a lot of trouble with the crown, because of the high humidity, despite making it in advance. Overall, I was very pleased with how it turned out.

I made this cake for a friend’s son who wanted something different from cars or other boy related themes. Overall, it was easy to make.

I made these as gifts for my family and friends on my baby shower. I wanted to show my appreciation to all of them for sharing my special day with me. In total there were 105 to bake, decorate and pack!

While I do like making chocolate cake (not eating it at the moment – pregnancy weirdness), it was nice to do something a little lighter. I decided to make an orange cake with a tangy frosting that wasn’t too sweet despite having white chocolate in it. It was a 9″ cake with 3 layers. Between 14 adults, there was only 3 slices left!

A giant chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream and fondant. The pregnant woman figure wasn’t the best and I’m the first to admit it! It wasn’t a representation of the friend I made it for, but it was my first attempt. Practice makes perfect they say!

The kid in me loves cupcakes, but to make enough cupcakes for everyone was not going to cut it, especially for my 30th birthday. The solution? A giant cupcake cake! It’s certainly not a new concept and I’m sure many of you have seen it before. So next time you feel like a cupcake, ask yourself do you want a mini, medium or jumbo size.

I was inspired by the show DC Cupcakes on TLC and immediately wanted to give them a go.

A cute cake to make with many elements, some of which you can’t see in this picture. It was a little difficult getting the image of Ariel to stand up, but I got there in the end.

The hardest part making this cake was the car! It took many attempts before I could get the cake batter to cook in the car mold.

I made this cake for good friend’s baby shower. As you can guess she was having a baby girl. This was the first time I used a bear cake pan and let me tell you it isn’t as easy as the instructions make it out to be. It takes a little bit of patience, but it worth it!
